"2 ladies of a certain age went to enjoy lunch out. We have been here several times, its a nice friendly place very clean and good atmosphere, nice friendly girl at bar to welcome us, We were Quite disappointed with the meal compared with out previous visits. We ordered from snack menu, I had southern fried chicken bites burger in GF bun with fries. My friend has pie and mash and hers was ok. 3 tiny bits of ?chicken definitely not breast meat, slimy and stringy! more crumb than filling, very over cooked crumb, the GF bun was falling apart everyone knows GF cobs need to be toasted toasted) the fries were soggy and bendy and the meal was almost cold! not very appetising, and my fault for not sending it back straight away but tried to eat and not complain. For desert I had the apple crumble and custard.it was straight out of the oven/ microwave and scalding hot! when cool enough to eat , it was tasty. Minus points also for the attitude of 1 waitress, whats wrong with it I will tell the kitchen! When my friend pointed out that my meal was not up to standard, then she slammed the bill on the table and walked away, We waited ages for her to come back so we could pay, and when she didnt, we got the nice girl from the bar to settle the bill"

Good traditional Sunday lunch.VERY generous portions , possibly too generous! Sadly no room for dessert but rounded off with a cup of Illy coffee. Charley as always an efficient and friendly host.

This charming pub located by the canal is the perfect spot for a delicious Sunday roast lunch. We have visited The Tom several times for meals, and the food and service are consistently excellent. The staff are always friendly and attentive.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch with a group of 10 adults and 5 dogs. The roast pork was delicious, hot, and served in generous portions. Everything we ordered was perfect. The dogs were even given their own bowls of food and they devoured every bite.

We met friends here for a catchup what a little gem it turned out to be. Lovely cozy pub serving delicious food. Great varied menu lots of Gluten free options. Fabulous staff by far the best was Boris!! He's a real crowd pleaser. We visited early January but we'll be back when the weather is better to sit outside by the canal Speisekarte ansehen

Came to the Tom o’The wood for a romantic late valentines meal with my boyfriend, staff are welcoming and food is great !!! was served most of the evening by a bloke called Jake, he seemed really enthusiastic about his job! and pours a bl**dy beautiful pint . I recommend the “Nobby Nuts” they are fantastic with a pint of DOOM BAR.

We often pop in to Tom O The Wood for lunch and 9 times out of ten it doesn't disappoint. Yesterday I had hand battered fish finger and tartar sauce sandwich and can honestly say it was heaven on a plate, fresh bread with lovely fish in light tempura batter I was delighted. We arrived early but by 1pm it was getting quite busy being Valentines day but service with a smile as always. Speisekarte ansehen

Not very impressed with my chicken lastnight, I felt the lemon and herb dressing lacked flavour, plus the breast of the chicken was a little dry, presume it had been standing around whilst the rest of the tables food was cooked. Also the waitress when asked for non alcohol drinks only quoted one larger available couldn't tell me if there were ciders etc. Plus didn't even offer to fond out. So to be honest I don't think we'll be going there again.

I visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and was impressed with everything, so I returned this week with friends. All five of us ordered the roast beef, which I can honestly say was the best I've had in a long time. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly, the vegetables were delicious, and the cauliflower cheese sides were also excellent. The desserts were delightful and the staff were attentive on both visits. The only downside was that the Sunday menu on the website advertised the roast beef at £16, but it was actually £18 on Sundays. Despite this, it has become our new favorite place for a roast. We will definitely be returning soon!
