"Our telephone enquiry about the availability of a table had been dealt with positively and with enthusiasm. When we arrived, however, the welcome evaporated, as the booking had, within thirty minutes, somehow disappeared into the ether. The sense of unwelcome persisted, as the same member...of staff served us with apparent reluctance and evident disgruntlement, bordering on discourtesy. The otherwise quite intimate atmosphere was destroyed by the arrival of a group of diners whose volume had all of the subtlety of a coach party in Benidorm. These behaviours should not detract from the quality of the food on the plate, but they do."

"They are working with good products and this has to be appreciated. Nevertheless, the outcome is not always successful. Some combinations are well inspired, others not so. Staff is nice. All in all, fair, but could do much better, there is potential, but there should...also be some willingness. I have seen this in most restaurants visited in the Loire Valley, owners probably know that there will always be someone at their tables given the affluence, so they just stick to putting food into them, without trying to exceed a certain level."
