"the ignorance of the food industry towards food allergies is frightening and the heart restaurant is an excellent example for this unpredictable ignorance. the restaurant was informed in advance about the heavy allergy of my daughter on seafood. they gave us a table next to the kitchen, because they ignore at the heart that an allergic reaction can be caused by breathing in steaming from the cooking of seafood or any food. they fry the chips in the same oil where they roast seafood and roast the meat at the same place where they fry the garnels. the alternative offered was a waiting period of 30 minutes, hoping that someone would go. they let us wait in a street where the other restaurants wore their müll and smoke the people. unnecessary to say that we have gone. when we add that the restaurant was aware that it was my 40th birthday and we were there to celebrate, the image of an absolute ignorance and inability becomes more complete. absolutely terrible experience. to avoid any event!"

We were very kindly squeezed in for a steak. Staff were super freindly, felt very welcome! Service was great and the steaks were excellent. Sides were a little heavy on the salt for my taste but still very enjoyable. Will be back for a more thorough, longer visit soon! Speisekarte ansehen

If you don't enjoy it, it's your own fault. T-bone steak here is as good as anywhere on the continent. The serving staff are professional and knowledgable. I was embarrassed by the table beside us with ridiculous demands and complaints. This is as good as it gets. If you're hoping for better, good luck. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Went looking for a simple lunch after a morning Bath Festival event and stumbled across The Herd. What a find, had the Steak Frites and it was cooked to perfection, absolutely perfect for my taste. One of the best rib eye steaks I have ever had. I had it medium and just melted in your mouth. Taste was first class and accompaniments of mushrooms, onion rings and double cooked chips were all cooked perfectly. It wasn’t that busy when we were there admittedly but the service was very attentive and food was cooked and served quickly. Will definitely be looking to go back again. Service: Dine in

I almost couldn't find this place if not for google map. The entrance is a bit obscure but it is definitely worth a bit of patience to find this gem. A small cosy restaurant that is hidden from the main busy street. Kinda feels like going into a bomb shelter or dungeon with the narrow stairs and corridors leading to the restaurant. Inside, the warm lightings were welcoming and easy on the eye. Food wise, the steak was done perfectly. Love the creamy spinach too as a side. Fries serving was generous too. Good for a meal while having a day trip at Bath.
